About Me
Oluwole A. Babatunde, MD, MPH, PhD, FWACP—a dynamic platform offering newsletters, inspirational books, podcasts, and other insightful content. With over 24 years of applying the principles of Meaning-making, Acting, Planning, Learning, Alliance-formation, Mission-alignment, and Praying (MAP-LAMP), this site is designed to equip you with faith-based habits to foster resilience and help you thrive at every stage of life. Oluwole’s mission is to fulfill God’s purpose by advancing from one level of success and value to the next while positively impacting the lives of others placed in his path.
Currently, Oluwole is a fourth-year psychiatry resident physician at Prisma Health Psychiatry in Greer, South Carolina (Class of 2025). His journey into medicine and research is deeply personal, rooted in the loss of his parents at the ages of seven and thirteen, partly due to a shortage of medical professionals. These experiences ignited his passion for becoming a compassionate physician-scientist who shares his story to inspire others and provide holistic care within and beyond medical boundaries.
Oluwole earned his medical degree and Master of Public Health in Nigeria before moving to the United States in 2014 to pursue a PhD in Epidemiology. Over the past 16 years (2009–2024), he has published over 64 scientific manuscripts. His research interests include addiction, adverse childhood experiences, cancer, and health disparities. From 2017 to 2021, he completed a National Institutes of Health F99/K00 grant—a prestigious predoctoral-to-postdoctoral fellowship—focused on cancer disparities, prior to starting his residency.
Oluwole’s long-term career goal is to become an exceptional physician-scientist in psychiatry, combining his research and clinical expertise to reduce mental health burdens, particularly within minority populations. Beyond his medical career, he aspires to share the message of hope and resilience embodied by MAP-LAMP, inspiring millions globally, one person at a time.
